Spruce up a child’s room…

Matte Stephens is a young artist from Portland, Oregon who’s modern designs are inspired by all things Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, George Nelson/Irving Harper and artists such as Ben Shahn and Paul Klee.

After stumbling across his prints, I wondered why so often parents limit children’s bedroom colours to the traditional choice of pink or blue. Why not venture outside the norm and hang a Matte Stephen’s print in your child’s room and match the quirky 60’s palette he uses.

Adding a few felt toys, old books, matching cushions or rugs, etc will brighten up the room and bring the theme together perfectly.

So cute. Never heard of this guy but will check him out. Agree about the colours. My eldest’s room is going evergreen and white with purple curtains. All inspired by a Taylor Swift video.
Love a bit of variety, after all….. it is the spice of life.
